Location: Bryant Park, Manhattan

Happy Friday or is that a Friyay!!

One of the many reasons why I love New York City is the abundance of parks. For a city that is mostly a conglomerate  of high rises and with almost every square foot paved, it is so refreshing that some are still left verdant. When we arrived in the city, we had a few a hours to spare before attending an event that we had flown to NYC for.  So we walked to nearby Bryant Park for a pick me up, coffee & croissants and to simply enjoy the beautiful fall day.  And beautiful it was. I just loved it when the crisp air caressed my skin!  Anyway, if you have never been to this park, it was a lot smaller than Central Park and felt more like a garden than a park smacked down in the middle of midtown between 5th and 6th avenues.

When I am in NYC, one of my favorite past time is to people watch (yup, not shopping) and this park is just the place to do that. I've always been so amazed with how everyone in the city moved at a lightning speed and seeing some of them relaxed a bit at the park is refreshing and a reminder to slow things down and smell the roses,  even for a big city like the big apple.  Having lived and worked in NYC, going to the park is almost quintessential New York city living. Whether it is meeting a loved one or a friend for a chat and coffee, walking your dogs, spending your lunch break with a to go lunch from a nearby deli, or simply catching the last rays of light before the bleak of winter.

Somehow this park reminded me so much of Paris partly because of its similarities to the Tuileries. And this carousel, so fun and made me wished my son was with me. No doubt he would have loved it.

It was unfortunate that the day I visited the park they were constructing the skating rink for Christmas and I was unable to take prettier pictures to really highlight the park that was nestled between the skyscrapers, but still the golden colors of these London plane trees made up for it.

So when you are feeling like you've had enough of the hustle and bustle of the city and perhaps you've had your fair share of Central Park and you just want to take a breather, remember to check this out.

P.S. I should have packed StaticGuard!

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful weekend!
