It's summer and it has been tremendously busy for me. Whether it's planning for our upcoming family vacation to Europe, or getting organized for Preston's birthday and planning my sister's bridal shower, all of which has tied me to my computer. What may seem so productive to me of course is a complete boredom for my four year old son. And so, we spent a morning at one of my favorite parks in Dallas. Klyde Warren Park is an urban green space built over the recessed Woodall Rodgers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul in downtown Dallas. It's a highly active space, providing daily free programs for the public ranging from yoga to book signing, to outdoor concerts and films. They also provide game carts and host weekend activities, but anytime is a good time to visit. Another reason I love this park is the abundance of food trucks serving an array of dishes, from hotdogs, ice cream to Vietnamese food. And if a sit down meal suits you, then walk over to Savor and Lark on the Park both within close vicinity (if not in the park) and serve delicious food and cocktails. But for today, Preston is completely content just breezing through these white metal arches and keeping cool splashing with the water features found at the park.
So, if you're in Dallas and wondering where to go with the kids or if you're from out of town and want to know what is there to do in Dallas, come here.
