Location: Rosewood Mayakoba, Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Buenas dias amigos!

There is nothing like waking up to this! Hola paradise! Sometimes I wonder why we don't visit the caribbean side of Mexico more often when it is SO close to Dallas. With its warm, turquoise waters and swaying coconut trees, it truly rivals the far, far away Caribbean Islands, not to mention the myriad of activities you can do in Mexico.  It is our first time staying at the Rosewood Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen and this place was like a slice of heaven.  We stayed at one of the ocean front suites and it truly felt like we had our very own island! I spent numerous mornings simply enjoying the sheer beauty of this place; taking many walks, excited to dip into the ocean.

I love staying active but especially so while I am on vacation. It's a wonderful way to splurge, sampling Mexican cuisine without feeling guilty or honestly,  having to worry about gaining some vacation weight.  One of the activities I found the most enjoyable was biking throughout the property.  Riding along the ocean front and cruising through acres of unspoiled jungle and lagoons was not only exhilarating, but fun. I seriously biked everywhere during my stay here.

The Caribbean side of Mexico is extremely humid so I packed mostly light-weight dresses. There used to be a time when I packed day outfits and dinner outfits. I'm not exactly a light packer but in an effort to be so, I've learned to pack clothes that look great any time of day. This dress is just so. Casual enough to be worn for biking and then straight to the beach and worn as a cover up or to dinner. The embroidery and tassel details just scream summer to me and are some of my favorite details. What do you think?

We love this place so much that we can't wait to come back! Any of you stayed at the nearby Fairmont Mayakoba or The Banyan Tree? I would love to hear about it.

Thanks for reading!
